Fun Family Home Evening!!

For seminary a week or so ago Dan was able to teach about David and Goliath. Dan made a Goliath the actual size said in the scriptures (minus approx. 2 inches as he underestimated when drawing him). Then Dan brought the boys slings (from one of Grandpa Sorensen's camping trips) into class and had the students try to hit him between the eyes with marshmellows. His class had so much fun doing it--we thought we would do it for Family Home Evening this week. The boys thougth it was the coolest thing ever--except we had no marshmellows (they don't last a long time around these parts) so we used almonds-DANGEROUS!
Here is how tall Goliath was compared to Ryland (we even cut off his feet because our ceilings were not tall enough, where we could reach to hang him) add about 4 more inches!!! HOLY COW!
Everyone got in on the action, but I think I was the only one to hit the helmet, Dan cut the cheek
Of course, we talked about the "Goliaths" that are in our lives now~like for the boys maybe it is obeying their mother and father and how we can overcome them!
Dacie has been really out of sorts lately--Family Home Evening was no exception. She can be found anytime of day hanging on our pant legs or in our arms ( I finally put her in the backpack on my back to make dinner last night) We are thinking she is brewing a new ear infection, pink eye and some more teeth. Sweet sicky sissy!

Oh, that is SUCH a fun idea! I love it. I'm thinking if my seminary teachers had been creative like Dan I would've paid A LOT more attention--what a fun activity!
