I am the KING of my CASTLE!

These were the words we heard out of Dan's mouth all evening last night. He was so proud of himself, and rightfully so. As many of you know we have been terrorized by a skunk these last few weeks spraying its territory, digging our mulch, and leaving little 'presents' for me to clean up or the kids to run through. FINALLY Dan took matters into his own hands and bought a trap off of ebay. After a few nights of luring the skunk closer and closer-he caught it last night!!! For FHE we were all peering out our back window listening to the little scratches and watching glowing eyes through the cracks. Dan carefully placed him in his car and drove him a good 10 plus miles into the middle of no where and deposited the 'goods'. I was petrified that the skunk would spook and Dan and his car would reap the consequences. But the books were right, that if skunks are covered they do feel safe. I also was skeptical that the trap was big enough to fit one. I was proved wrong on both accounts. The skunk did not want to leave the trap-so Dan had to pick it up and "launch" the skunk out of it-all the while taking off running trying not to get sprayed. The launch turned into only a few feet with a little plop. Dan did not look back...and when he did Mr. Stinky was gone from our lives for good!...OR so we thought, until we went into our back yard this evening and HE HAS A BROTHER! Thank goodness we bought the trap instead of hiring someone! Dan is still the king of his castle, he just has more protecting to do. After which, he says he is going out for hire to pay for the trap(you would be suprsied what people charge to do it!)! Aaaah, my skunk trapper in shining armor to the rescue! This is a picture of the 'beloved' trap-maybe we will get a snapshot of our buddies too!

Yay!!!! It is awesome that you've started a blog (no pressure from me right!?) and VERY AWESOME that you guys caught that little skunk. It's fun hearing about an adventure like that--especially since I didn't have to do it. Dan is VERY brave to do that & deserves to be KING!
