Having never been to San Diego...the temple was one of the things I missed seeing!
We decided to slow the pace down in the middle of the week--and took an evening trip after hanging out all day to the temple! The kiddos certaily LOVED the grass hills that the temple is situated on!
Because we had four kids and no babysitter--going through a session for Dan and I was out of the question. BUT you do not necessarily need to go inside to feel the spirit. We loved being there as a family and talking with the cute couple missionary's assigned to the grounds outside the temple. They showed us pictures of the inside atrium, and staircase--it was a good experience for us!
This temples design is so unique and awe inspiring-- and from pictures I always envisioned it being bigger. However when we approached the temple-although it is large, was not as big as I thought! I realize the design of it gives the appearance of being bigger (even looking at these pictures now).
It is majestic and amazing, as all temples are.

It was the "fairytale castle" for our perfect vacation.
The icing on our cake!!!

I love, love, love the San Diego Temple, and it is even prettier on the inside! Glad your computer is fixed so we can talk to eachother again. I missed you too!
Wow. What a fun (and CRAZY with four kids--I'm sure) vacation. I love that temple too. I remember going on a family trip to go through the open house before it was dedicated. Beautiful!
The doll is from Costco--and yes, it's bigger than any other doll I've seen. Did you notice the girls were wearing your b-day bows when they were at the doctor??? Thanks! They're so cute and we finally have something brown to wear them with.
What a wonderful time for all of you. Looks like you did a lot and now have some wonderful memories. I love vacations for the memories it creates for my children. Thanks for sharing your pictures, it feels like I went on vacation with you!
reminds me of the D.C. temple....I remember thinking how majestic it was just driving up to it and when you are there...it's a huge rock of beautiful white....powerful but peaceful. Glad the kids had fun on the grass....looks like great hills to roll down on. Love this family vacation!
That temple is so cool! I've never seen it in person, but the pics are just amazing. Dacie is looking like a 3 year old in some of those pictures!
When I went to San Diego in June with my friend Andrea we were able to go to the temple there and do a session. It was a wonderful experience.
