I LOVE to See the Temple!

Probably one of my favorite highlights of this trip was being able to go through a session at the Sacramento Temple w/ my mom and sister (Cara). This IS MY mission temple. It was built after I returned home from my mission BUT the very people I taught, loved, spent time with and saw baptized, are the ones who attend this temple-- and their attendance brought this new temple to pass. So I feel like I helped contribute a little, in a sense, to this temple.
I felt the spirit so strongly and it put everything into perspective, as it always does. It is always so nice to be able to attend the temple with your family as well!
One of the special things about this temple is it has a mural room painted to look like the area. It was beautiful!!! It had the very things I fell in love with while I served a mission, especially rolling hills of Auburn, the mountains of paradise...I just LOVED it. I recommend all my MISSION BUDDIES attend, if they ever get a chance
The boys were at Aunt Mindy's house having a sleepover, eating out, shopping for prizes, and swimming! and Dacie was hanging with Gpa and Breanna and Brendon-3 to 1, she was VERY content!
My mom rushed us back to Cara's so that we could watch "so you think you can dance"-my family is hooked, and in turn has now hooked us (even my boys...they stay up late to watch it now)! We went out for girls dessert the next night!
What a Happy Day!!

I'm really going to have to go to that temple one of these trips out there. Maybe we'll make it for Christmas! My parents both work there, but I've yet to go. They've told me about the walls. I miss the rolling hills of home! But, I like them best when they are green in the spring. They're pretty when they are golden in the summer too, but I love them in the spring. I miss driving home down Bell Road. But, it's true, you can never go back...

P.S. Thank you for the work you did in the Roseville Mission. You know it will be ten years from Mark's baptism on August 30th?

Last summer, I received a random phone call from a family I taught in Granite Bay (the McKenzies). Eight years after I taught them, they were going to the Sacramento Temple to be sealed (one year after their baptism). They graciously offered to fly me out for the sealing and I anxiously accepted.

What an experience! I know EXACTLY how you felt! Never would I have dreamed while serving in Granite Bay that there would be a temple MINUTES away. And why did I never know about that huge Mormon center that has been there forever? What a blessing the temple is to the people and missionaries (both past and present) in that area.

Love you, Sister!

P.S. I don't know if I've sent you an invite to our private blog - If I haven't, can you send me your email address at wilkinson_fam@yahoo.com

what a beautiful temple! How neat to be able to go back to your mission area any time you visit your family. That has got to be so cool!
