Family Home Evening Car Wash

So 2 weeks ago we held our little Family Home Evening

at the

CAR WASH

there is nothing like getting your 'to do' list finished, all while spending time as a family!!
even little Rhett kept track of the change and air freshener...that is,
until he tipped over and almost fell out of the car!

Coltons drying methods had much to be desired, but at least he was working, right?

BUT ITS OFFICIAL!!!!....

RHETT IS NOW A SORENSEN!!!

(as if he wasn't before, we just finally got his sticker on the van!)

GGGOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!

After pleading with us to sign him up for soccer this year-

we signed Sterling up for the fall season of AYSO soccer!

(YES! That GIANT of a boy #9 is Sterling-still topping the charts in size!)

We were hesitant too, after his first season. He was not much into it then and did allot of running with never touching the ball. We also knew it was more of a time commitment now with practices on top of games....
BUT
Sterling has ABSOLUTELY happily surprised us this year!
He gets it!

although he is is not the superstar, he certainly holds his own!
(Sterling with one of his favorite buds Riley-they actually got on the same team-what a LUCKY year!)

Where he might slightly lack in natural talent he certainly makes up for in COACH-ABILITY

(Sterling is far right-the boys just hangin' on picture day-it was hot and they were cooling it off!)

I have never seen a kid follow directions so precisely!!
So this last Saturday I am happy to announce that
STERLING MADE his 1st GOAL!!
He so much deserved it. You should have seen how happy he was!
It made a mom's heart HAPPY to see him so HAPPY!

BRACE FACE!!!

THIS WEEK WAS AN EVENTFUL ONE FOR COLTON,

HE GOT BRACES!!!
After one long night of pain, advil, trip to the school nurse, a few canker sores, talking without moving his mouth...
I think Colton may be getting use to them.
Although he may never get use to having to CLEAN them!
He is turning into a teenager right before my eyes!
We ALWAYS knew this day would eventually come (almost since he was a toddler) because of lack of room in his mouth.
So we tried to save, BUT nothing can prepare you to drop a few grand in one afternoon!
Colton is on his own for college!

Preschool. Playgroup and Pokeno OH MY!!!!

Knowing that a baby usually "knocks me off my feet" for a while. I volunteered to take my hosting shifts for

Pokeno (girls game night), playgroup and preschool later, when Rhett was a little bit older. When I was maybe getting more sleep?, and we might have a schedule?

Unintentionally, I volunteered the same month for all of these-after all, Rhett would be 6 months and it always gets easier after that...right?!

Last Evening (9/17) we hosted Pokeno at our Home.

Luckily, I had 2 other hostesses to divide the responsibilities up. Since I was busy helping make 16 Ladies fit (we were COZY!), dinner, game playing, treat making, ice cream toppings, drinks, plates, forks, clean house...I forgot to take pictures!

So instead, you will get a version of our invite!

Friendship is like Toppings:

We all come in variety and sizes

each add taste,

but together are Prizes.

One alone is kind of bland,

but together they can tear up the land.

Sweet and Sour

Plain and Zesty

Put them together and they can get quite FRESKAY!

Of course, a meal (a.k.a friendship) would not be complete,

unless some NUTS were part of the fleet!

That is why you are invited to our,

Night of Pokeno Toppings Galore!

Then the first week of September we held Playgroup and Preschool at our home the same week!

(thank heavens for sisters in town right?)

PLAYGROUP was back to school Sundaes and water time in the back yard!

We {heart} this pool I got at Wal-Mart...I hope everyone else we gave pools too for gifts has enjoyed theirs too!

PRESCHOOL (Dacie's mom swap one) was the LETTER B!

so, of course, we focused on Butterflies (since it is all girls)

ate bears and bananas, did show-and-tell

and just had a grand ol' time !!

(after one of the poor little girls threw up all over our entry way!)

Ry even got to make himself a pair of BOY WINGS!

Pokeno, Playgroup and Preschool OH MY(fun)!!!

and me and my home survived!

LABOR DAY WEEKEND

For Labor Day weekend--we took it easy! (between 3 families we had 12 and a half kids--they watched their own "show" in the other room!)

OF COURSE we had to fit in SOME FUN!

with our traditional FIRST BYU GAME KICK-OFF at the Hoggards!!

ARIZONA DOES BLUE!

We brought our own meat, bar-b-q'ed and ate TONS!

(too bad I got the stomach flu towards the end-that lasted into the next day!)
AND, of course, Julie (aka Betty Crocker) made a YUMMY CAKE!

ON MONDAY (when the worst of my cold was over)
we took a mini road trip to Prescott to run some errands...

we stuffed the kids with cheap food at Sam's Club

and then headed over to peter piper pizza to let them play some games

not gonna lie...Dan and I got our fair share in as well!

We collected all the tickets and came away with some pretty sweet lotsa' little prizes! ha ha

HAPPY LABOR DAY for us!!!

Rhett better be worth his weight in gold..literally!

We have been GOING from BLOND to BRUNETTE-

for the first time ever in my life!

Blonde can get so high maintenance, and while dark is "in" I thought I would give it a try.

I am NOT any smarter (I have lost my big lanyard car keys)

BUT I have always had fun!

Getting our faces painted, eating a free catered bar-b-q, jumping in the jump castle

dunking dad in the dunk tank, winning a free exercise ball, and 18 rounds of golf with a cart from the broadcasting radio station

We have DISCOVERED MOM's CAMERA!

AND WHAT A FUN TOY IT MAKES!

We have been INSTALLING NEW WOOD BLINDS in the BOYS BEDROOM!

(thanks for breaking the ol' ghetto ones aunt booboo)

We have been FAITHFULLY WORKING OUT (at least 3x's a week) AT THE NEW REC CENTER!

WE HAVE BEEN HAVING!!!!
