Dan now works 4 ten-hour days at work, which gives him one day during the week off at home! We were not sure about this new schedule, BUT I am not gonna lie, we get sooo much done on those days.
This last Tuesday was no exception. Dan was able to take Colton down to Phoenix to the pediatric dentist to get his cap and spacer put back in, after it falling out during school. Dan's mom works for this dentist, so he squeezes in her kids as well (that includes Dan and I).
Since it has been over two years since Dan has been to the dentist AND since he has complained in the past, that his teeth hurt~ I was pretty certain that he had some cavities AND was, at least, due for a cleaning. Sooo while Dan took Colton we squeezed Dan in on the schedule as well.
I usually do not let you in on our hygiene habits BUT this one is to prove a point. My husband only brushes his teeth once a day IF that, on weekends (thank heavens he does not have bad breathe problems). On the other hand, I, at least, brush mine twice a day ( I LOVE clean teeth) and at other random times during the day (like after exercising). I also get flossing in a WHOLE lot more than he does. I am also the one who uses the whitening strips! So it would make sense that my teeth would be the better and prettier of the two and a whole lot healthier. NOT TRUE!
After two years of avoiding the dentist he does not have ONE cavity. Not even a 'watch' this spot one! I, on the other hand in the past two years have had: more than 5 cavities filled, two unsuccessful root canals, a tooth pulled and then immediately put back in, AS WELL as expensive trips to the endodontist and implant specialist, a few pain meds and being sedated.
Go FIGURE! stinkin'GENETICS ~Sorry Dad ( and Colton is on my path!)
Genetics, genetics, genetics!

Oh man!! That is crazy! I have heard that genetics plays a BIG role--so I'm out of luck too--though I'm big into brushing/flossing to stave it off as much as I can!
I'm not gonna lie...he may have some cavities yet...the dentist wants to re-do some of his old fillings and sealants, so he may not be as lucky as you think! And he may lose his teeth to gum disease instead because he isn't flossing! It was fun to have him and Colton and Sterling come into the office...Love your new look on the blog and pictures...I'm not gonna lie...Love,
