Today is Dr. Seuss's birthday. I am quickly learning that we take advantage of celebrations in our teaching techniques at school. Much like the 100th day of school--Dr. Seuss's Birthday or READ ACROSS AMERICA day has turned into a celebration!
The kids, their parents, & their Aunt Cara's got to wear pj's to school, Eat Green Eggs and Ham in the cafeteria,
Watching "Horton Hears a Who" while eating,
Watching "Horton Hears a Who" while eating,
AND then take their mommy's and Aunt (divide and conquer) to their classes to let them read the mom's favorite books to their friends in class!
AND to make the day even better...Ryland got to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday in preschool too!
They had red and white decorations all over, made BIG yummy cupcakes and brought home balloons--
This really made Ryland's day (thanks Julie Hoggard)--ecspecially after Ryland had prayed last night that his brothers would have fun at Dr. Seuss's birthday in school(since they had been talking about it so much)--he felt included in the FuN!!
So we Hope you had a PJ, time-to-read-a-book-- kinda' DAY!!!

Oh that is so fun! I love it when the schools make things like that so fun for the kids. I sure hope my girls get to experience stuff like that!
